Icon size shrunk

Since I updated to iOS 15 I cannot see icons, they have become too small…..even when set to larger icon in settings. Need to revert back to larger icons of previous iOS versions right now. Absurd to make so tiny, smaller is not better….no utility value. Very poor decision.

Fix this now or show me how.

I notice on my iPhone, under SETTINGS> DISPLAY & BRIGHTNESS, at the very bottom, they have “DISPLAY ZOOM”, which makes your screen zoom larger INCLUDING the icons. Unfortunately They don’t have that feature on the IPad.

Why isn't the zoom feature a solution for you, exactly?

The Zoom feature works just fine and dandy for most of my visual needs and it is always available, when needed.

What was/is, exactly, the problems with using the Zoon feature for you or anyone else here, for that matter?

You need to send unacknowledged feedback to Apple's feedback site.

You can send as much feedback as you like as many times as you like.

Someone from Apple DOES disseminate all feedback generated from the product feedback location, but NO ONE gets any individual responses from Apple.

I finally upgraded my iPad Pro to iOS 15.3 and the app icons are too small on my big screen as noted by everyone here. I remember this was the problem before when Widgets were turned on. Turning Widgets off made the app icons larger than simply turning on use Large Icons. Now there’s no way to turn off Widgets that I can find. If we could turn off Widgets, that might fix the issue as it did in earlier versions. Note to Apple: iPads are not used like iPhones. Note to Apple: the solution posted does not work.

Switching to “large icons” makes ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE! Is is supposed to do 30 icons a page when small and 20 when large, but after selecting large there are STILL 30 ICONS PER PAGE! I have tried rebooting the device and is makes NO difference. Why does Apple try to “fix” things THAT ARE NOT BROKEN??

Only Apple would know why they have made changes. You can let them know your thoughts on the matter here:

I'm also really upset at this change. As a visually Impaired person I can no longer see the icons on the home screen and forget about trying to see the titn, tiny fonts. And sick of Apple's patent response on this, which is given all the time! Go to setting. set to large icons...DOES NOTHING AT ALL. Apple use to support the disabled and seniors like non other but now with this "new" ios 15 they have basically made their devices useless for seniors with less than perfect sight and visually impaired. Yes I know I can zoom, Yes I know I can use voice over. But many apps do not work correctly with that and it's really a pain to be having to zoom on everything all the time. When Apple could tell their super eyed programers to ease up on us who don't have great eye's. And allow however many icons per page WE WANT with size adjusting accordingly. I'm about to dump Apple just for this. Bought their new mini and it's useless after upgrading to 15. Now a $800 useless toy.

Have you told Apple this?

OK, Apples own documentation states that when you choose "LARGE ICONS" there should be 20 icon per page and when you choose "SMALL ICONS" there should be 30 per page. However, you can change this setting till the cows come home and it STILL stays at 30 icons per page. That means that the OS is NOT working as designed. I

Why are you telling me? I can't fix it. Tell Apple. You can either use the feedback link provided above. Or, if you want to explore the matter further with Apple, use the "Get Support" link at the top right of every page of these forums.

After downloading iOS 15.1 my app icons on my iPad have shrunk and there’s no way to get them larger. I’ve already chosen large app icons in the Settings. Please put them back to the size they used to be or offer extra large or extra extra large! I have the apps I need on the first page and those I rarely use on the following pages. Theses new app icons are the size of my iPhone icons. Too small and frankly ridiculous!

You can easily change the size of the magnifying window to any size you need to accomodate moving around on the iPad’s home screens.

You do not have to stick wth the initial magnifying window size.

There are features/control/pop-up options when you either tap the wider bar, at the bottom center edge of the magnifier window to resize the lens or use the onscreen magnifier controller button to do the same.

A larger window makes it quicker to navigate your iPad's home screens.

In the pop-up control window, there is even an option to set a magnification size using a slider at the very bottom of the pop-up window, that you can freely adjust.

I think you just haven't familiarised yourself enough with this magnifyng/zoom feature to make better and more efficient and better use of it.

Ipad iOS 15.1 update and large icon setting selected as everyone else. Icon size ridiculous.

Apple, you should know better to comprehensively test your software before rolling out.
User experience, has been impacted. A prompt fix is due.

I guess apple really does not care about what they like or need since they still have not fixed the small icons.

Have you sent them feedback?

Also, just because you asked for it doesn't 1) mean they don't care but also 2) that they will make the change you want. There may be reasons you don't know about that preclude such a change. Or it may be part of a future roadmap. We have no way of knowing. All you can do is submit feedback. Complaining here accomplishes little beyond catharsis.

If the iPad no longer meets your needs, sell it and move on to something that does. They do tend to hold their resale value.
