Are there any exceptions to the 14 day period of returning your trade in during the holidays? I recently purchased a new iPhone for my grandson as a Christmas present and the return packaging just showed up today. Since he is still using his old phone the cat would be out of the bag if I have to repo it in order to send it in!
Called and was told the 14 day period cannot be extended and to call back after the gift has been given and they can reinstate the trade in. I doubt they will reinstate it but instead do a whole new trade in and one can only hope they are still going to give the same amount.

And hopefully they will still be able to credit the payment method that you used for the new iPhone rather than giving you an Apple Gift Card.
