safari send mail link to google

Recently when I go File, Share, Email this Page, in safari it defaults to Google mail. My preference is Mail. I have tried to add Mail to Share Menu list but am not having much luck. Does anyone have some advice I can follow up on to sort this problem out? Thanks - Eric

Sharing URLs using Mail As long as I have the Chrome Browser on my laptop, (not designated as main browser though), when I share a URL by email, it defaults to Google Mail! It used to default to Mail. I have not changed my preferences for having Safari as my default browser. If I want it to default to Mail for sharing, I have to trash Chrome on my laptop, which I don't want to do because I administer some gmail accounts commercially for a living and accessing them is much easier using Chrome. How do I make gmail in safari my default share email? I want to share a webpage by emailing it. I select email, and it opens Firefox instead of Safari, and I'm not able to send the email. So how can I get it to use Safari instead of Firefox to open my Gmail and send the webpage I want to share?

Is this occurring on a macOS Platform or on IOS platform ?

Open Apple Mail on macOS platform then Apple Mail Preferences >> General and at the top " Default email Reader" and change it to Apple Mail.

Thank you thank you thank you. I looked everywhere but not there. I knew it had to be something simple as my iPhone was OK and worked as it should.

Thanks - Safari is my default browser but it seems I had the wrong selection in Mail. The last place I would have looked.

All fixed now.
