iPhone 13 pro Speaker Sound Issue

Hi, I am having issues with the speakerphone of my new iPhone13 pro. When I am on calls and switch the speaker on, the person on the other end of the call cannot hear me clearly. They complain my voice is breaking up or they have a hard time hearing me. This is not a network issue since the moment I switch the speakerphone off, the issue is resolved. I have experienced this issue about 8 out of 10 times, so, it is quite frequent. The speaker otherwise works fine and I have tried recording videos and voice memos and they play well on the speaker mode.

I just receive my Iphone13 and people on the other end are complaining that my phone is breaking up and they can barely hear me on speaker. Apple needs to fix this because this just recently started happening and it’s becoming annoying especially working from home. Please fixed it.

I purchased the iPhone 13 pro max as soon as it came out and I was at the Apple Genius Bar within a matter of weeks and they pretty much insisted there was nothing wrong with it. I use my phone on the speaker setting 90% of the time when making business calls, and what generally happens is that the speaker will continually revert from “speaker” setting back to “iphone” setting during conversations. And that makes it difficult to conduct business, while using the computer, because the sound drops and the person on the other end will no longer be able to hear me and and will say that I’m breaking up and I will not be able to hear them either. Why is Apple ignoring this issue and why have they not addressed it at all when it is obviously a problem. I may have to open a credit card claim as well, to get some action from Apple, if this is not taken care of. As far as I am concerned, it really, for me, makes this phone useless.

Hi any update on this issue on how to fix it? Did reset, tested the mic using the camera and voice memo. It works fine.I only encounter this whenever I do video calls on speakerphone and regular calls on speakerphone and placing my phone upright. My voice is breaking whenever I speak consistently. I also tried teaching to apple support and thy seemed to be not aware of this issue, the did some remote thing and test from their end and said everything’s fine.Send help apple! :(

My husband has the 13 Pro Max and he switched from android. Every time we FaceTime or talk on the phone on his breaks at work…he cuts out to bad. He can hear me perfectly fine. But he talks and every other word is cut. So, he takes his AirPods and he has to use them or I cannot hear him. When he doesn’t have them I am constantly saying “huh, what? You there?!” 🫥🙄🫣🙃

I have done any of the suggested things to fix this problem. I use speaker every time I am on the phone as I have a problem with pain in my arms to hold the phone. I am also not going to buy earbuds just to fix this and always have them. Clearly Apple needs to fix this problem if so many people are upset by it. I cannot go exchange by phone because it took me too long to figure out it wasn’t me. It was the phone. Please please fix this! 😫—upset maybe ex iPhone user

I have contacted Apple and have had my iPhone 13 Pro (Blue) changed twice! And, once again, the person on the other end, while talking on speaker phone, said to me "What did you say? You keep breaking up." I'm about to scream! I loved my original phone, except for this issue, and now this is the second replaced phone that has this issue. I will be calling up Apple Again to get it replaced, again! 3rd times a charm? I hope! And, I see some replies above talk about a sim card? iPhone 13 Pro's have Esims. So, there is no physical sim to replace it here in the United States. This is a HUGE PROBLEM and I will think twice about buying another iPhone. The customer service is first rate but their $1500 phone has major issues! It can't perform the most basic of functions, which is the ability to talk on the iPhone using a speaker phone. It is definately an issue with the noise cancelation So, there is a hardware, software, issue at hand. Unbelieveable Apple. ifreakin' Unbelievable.

I have the same issue since i bought my iphone 13 pro in feb 2022 . I gave it for repair last week only for it to be sent back without any repair with a note saying they couldn’t reproduce the issue. I realized just now that the issue is only when im using a phone cover/ covering the bottom of the phone when i talk ( for instance when without a cover , if I place my phone on a standing position or if I have my finger covering the bottom part of my phone while holding it.

Placing the phone flat on a surface without a phone cover is the only way people can hear my voice without it breaking while im on speakerphone.

tried and tested :)

Although I cant NOT use a phonecover as I dont trust myself with anything that breaks upon fall- so my solution is not really a solution for me but might help others :)

Dear apple team

i purchased iPhone 13 on 28th June and reported distortions in top speaker sound while making calls normal or on speakers or on what’s app

took my iPhone to your apple service centre gurgaon Unicorn info system one horizon gurgaon. They just clean and gave me back my phone and saying no hardware issue they will keep the phone for 48 hrs and then also if problem persist then it will go to Bangalore.

I would like to say is that an Brand Apple service that in just a week your speakers are not working fine and I have give that phone to service. I would preferred to get replacement of phone rather than having it repaired. As because it will no other than a refurbished.

highly disappointed for being the first time customer of Apple

One thing that oddly seems to work for me is to goto settings>> cellular >> cellular data options >> voice & data

then select LTE instead of any of the 5g options. It’s very odd that this seems to resolve the issue. I would think it was carrier related but this issue seems to be occurring for a ton of people using various carriers. I’m curious to see if this fix works for anyone else. Pretty annoying to not be able to use 5G if I want to be able to have speakerphone or FaceTime work.
