iPad spam email since iOS 15 install

Hello, I have been receiving a lot of spam e-mail lately.

It seem like it started right after the install of iOS and iPad os 15.

I use Apple mail app.

It is just like the spam filter reseted and would't restart.

Does anyone have this problem?

I keep on blocking senders, but their is a endless number of them!

Did Apple remove the spam filter in favor of "Hide my e-mail"

What can I do?

What a ridiculous answer. People have been doing this for years and it really doesn’t seem to help. There is a junk email folder that was doing a decent job in catching these emails before they get to our inbox. However after upgrade to 15.2, emails that should be caught around finding their way to my inbox. Judging from the me too’s above, there are a lot of us in the same boat. Somebody needs to find a fix for this. No more obvious, ridiculous replies please.

Yes, the email is addressed to akilzachary385, and BCC’d to you. Just delete the email or mark it as spam if your ISP has that as an option.. If you click “unsubscribe” they know that you received the message. If you ignore it they don’t know.

Thanks! Lawrence for the info and your persistence!

But it is still a lot of coincidence.

For info, I use Yahoo! It use to do a good job with spam filtering.

But why suddenly with this Apple update is it back to square one with all (Yahoo, AT&T, who else?) our ISP Spam database?

Could it be that all mail in the spam mailbox as been un-spam?

I don't know what happen, but I am still having more spam today then before the update.

That is a lot of block address and user (and the block user still are received in the TO mail line).

Does Apple have a bug on this "loaded distant content or image" because it was fine before when I had that disable.

I tend to believe you, but that does't solve the problem. I am still looking for a solution before I ditch my email address.

I have sbcglobal.net (AT&T via Yahoo) and have been overwhelmed with spam that is obviously so (misspellings, weird names). It happens on ALL my Apple devices (Mac, Macbook and iPhone 12). I'm using Apple Mail. I've checked the privacy settings to "Protect Mail Activity" on the iPhone. I have blocked every single one of these message senders (takes forever these days) and sent them all to Junk Mail (where it's suppposed to remember). NOTHING works. No one seems to be taking ownership of this problem. Will switching to gmail help?

The AT&T/Yahoo mail system has been breached multiple times. If you have had an account there for more than a year, it's been breached.

The spam filters on gmail are arguably better, but not perfect.

I keep multiple accounts. One for bills and banking, one for personal correspondence, one for corresponding with companies/organizations/people not within my immediate circle, one for registering on websites, and one for shopping.

Thanks but it’s been on the whole time to filter. My unknown senders messages do go into a different folder, but my spam email does not. In fact, I’m getting more and more spam again, various countries and some that appear to be US ,but who really knows…I’m gonna have to go back to Google mail and try to report spam. It’s a hassle because I use my iPhone for everything else.

Have found a similar discussion on another site suggesting that sbcglobal and Yahoo are failing in spam filtering. What a terrible position to be in - between AT&T (sbcglobal and Yahoo mail) and Apple support. No one seems to want to take ownership and all I'm getting is more and more spam email. Filters are on. Blocking each one takes forever and they continue to pour in.

DITTO! Seems awfully coincidental and extremely frustrating. And before anyone tells me it's NOT the update, stop. I don't know if it is or isn't, it just seems there are ALOT of us. And YES I have done all the things to filter SPAM. Not my first rodeo with Apple for the last 27 years. I'll keep reading and see where things go.

I find it hilarious that people are saying it has nothing to do with the OS or the update, but I Apple mail and Apple is my Email provider. So the update would indeed have a relevant cause for my spam email issues. I use iCloud mail. My email is so old I have one of the original @me.com email addresses. I am about to switch to another email provider as after the iOS 15 update all my @icloud.com and @me.com emails are being spammed out of existence.
