NTFS for Mac not working properly after migration

I recently purchased a new MacBook Pro, and migrated my data from my old one. Now neither of the two NTFS-formatted external drives I used with my old MBP to back up data, photos, and video files I didn't need on my computer's hard drive all the time don't mount properly. I can only mount them in read-only mode - which at least lets me look at the stuff that's already on them. But it doesn't allow me to add new files, or delete old ones. I can't seem to uninstall NTFS for Mac to try reinstalling it and seeing if that works. So I'm hoping there's another solution out there.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 12.0

Update your third party software...

It is always best to use a file system which has native support within macOS. You've found out while all the respected contributors on these forums always recommend this option since using a proprietary NTFS drivers always leads to problems whenever macOS is updated or upgraded.

If you need to share the drive with Windows, then it is best to erase the drive as GUID partition and exFAT.

If you only need to use the drive with macOS, then it is best to erase the drive as GUID partition and MacOS Extended (Journaled). You can also use APFS, but I don't recommend APFS since it is a new file system that tends to become easily corrupted where First Aid is many times unable to repair the file system which then requires erasing the drive and restoring the files.

As for the not being able to uninstall the NTFS for Mac software/driver, you should check with the manufacturer of the drive or the developer of the software as they may have a new uninstaller app or instructions for manually removing the software/driver.

You should always have frequent and regular backups of your computer and all external media which contains important and unique data.
