My new M1 Pro 14" Mac is randomly changing the display settings. It is connected to a single external Samsung monitor. When it wakes up from sleep I can see that the monitor arrangement has been changed into a random order. This happens intermittently.
This is a major PIA, every time my mac wakes up from sleep, the display settings get lost. It is more frequent now. I am wondering how many people are experiencing this problem. I have no other issues with my mac. Or is it an indication of some hidden problem I wonder. Apple screwed upon this.
For the price I paid for this M1 Pro 14" Mac, to have to reconfigure the display arrangement after every sleep/reboot.... Words fail me.

this worked for me! I have been resetting the displays every day for the last week and I was getting quite sick of it. this helped me thank you so much!
Hi, I had the same issue with a new Samsung monitor, tried resetting the the Macpro's NVRAM [P+R+command+Option] at restart and fixed the problem. All back t normal. Hope that helps.
Apparently this is not an option for M1 macs. It would work for Intel macs only
