cannot turn on calls on other devices

My Iphone (running IOS 15.1) won't let me "allow calls on other devices"

It issues the error "Facetime abd iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to enable Calls on Other Devices."

I am signed in to both icloud and facetime with the same apple ID on the phone.

So why do I get this error and how do I fix it.

Cannot make Iphone calls on Mac Facetime I am trying to use my Mac to make calls through my Iphone. I get the message that my Iphone is not configured to use this Mac. I go into Iphone Phone settings and try to turn on "Calls on Other Devices." I get n error message "Cannot Turn on Calls on Other Devices" because "Facetime and Icloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to enable Calls on other Devices." They are on the same ID and are on the same WiFi. This makes no sense at all, but I cannot find a way to solve it.

Same Apple ID on both devices.
