Function Key shortcuts.

Hello,

I recently updated my mac a few versions up to monterey. I noticed that there are these function key shortcuts that are bothering me. The shortcuts are Fn a which opens the dock, Fn C which opens the control centre, and Fn N which opens the notifications centre. I was wondering if there was a way to change these shortcuts somewhere?

any way to toggle Mac's function keys on and off with a keyboard shortcut? Does anyone know of a Monterey-compatible plugin or program that allows you to toggle Mac's function keys on and off with a keyboard shortcut? Function Flip was a great extension that worked perfectly. But it hasn't been updated since 2017 and no longer works, at least not in Monterey or Big Sur. I'm currently using Keyboard Maestro as a workaround. But Maestro isn't as good as Function Flip, since FF could toggle function keys with a simple KB shortcut without going into any menus. Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions.

Is the Mac using the Shift-Space shortcut? I have an app which allows a lot of customization by defining keyboard shortcuts. I had defined F1-F6 and noticed only F5 didn't work - the solution to that was visiting my Keyboard/Shortcuts system preferences and unchecking the box that mapped Show Desktop to F5. I'm easily able to define Space to perform a given function, but not Shift-Space. I saw no shortcut predefined for Shift-Space in the system preferences - does anybody know if the Mac is hogging Shift-Space for anything? I'm on Monterey using a 2019 MacBook Pro.

Left Option key acting as a shortcut for "Show Desktop" Hello, In my MacBook Pro, the left option key is behaving as a shortcut for "Show Desktop". This is despite changing the keyboard shortcuts under "System Preferences". This is quite annoying as I am unable to use many of the developer keyboard shortcuts which relies on the left option key as a modifier key. I am using MacOS Ventura 13.4.1.

Then you will have to drop Apple a line and let them know you would like your Mac to work differently than everyone else's.

System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard > Modifier Keys… Set the Globe key to "No Action".

I do not really want to disable the entire key.

Before I updated my mac there was no Fn A shortcut and I still used the Fn key for other things.

The shortcuts I mentioned are not in the keyboard shortcuts settings. They were found in the Accessibility > Keyboard > Navigation > Options....

I found it bizarre that they provided shortcuts that you cannot simply change.

I thought it was related to the Enable Full Keyboard Access setting but those shortcuts work whether it is on or off
