My airpod pros won’t stay connected

My airpod pros won’t stay connected after a call and if I try to accept a calm with them they won’t connect. When I hang up on a call if I was listening to something it just starts playing in the phone speaker and not on the airpod

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 15

Choose one of the service options below to have your AirPods Pro serviced.

Your AirPods Pro will be examined prior to any service to verify that they are eligible for this program.

AirPods Pro (left, right or both) with a confirmed issue will be replaced.

The AirPods Pro case is not affected and will not be replaced.

I was given an appointment with a tech at the GENIUS BAR at the APPLE store and the initial response was that my charging case was bad and that I would come out better purchasing a new AirPods Pro which I refused then he troubleshoot the case with his lab top and said my firmware was not up to date and that I need to go home and update it which after arrival home impossible to update since iPhone don’t recognise the device. Just given the run around for nothing. The Gen 1 AirPods are working with no issues had to pull them back out for now .

My airpod pros won’t stay connected
