Apple Pay not adding the correct debit/credit card expiry date!

When adding a card to 'apple wallet' from old phone to new phone, my credit card expiry date is being changed behind the scenes. I manually enter the correct date and it still is not recording it correctly.

Apply Pay accepts the card because I put the correct name/card#/exp date. When I go to make a purchase, the card is declined. Call bank, they confirm it was due to the wrong expiry date (it was put in correctly x3). Call Apply, they advise that they don't know the fix to this issue and should discuss with bank. Thoughts!?

So after further troubleshooting with Apple and bank the fix is to have bank manually update the card. This is what the fix was on this issue:

When you delete card and go to add it again from the Apple Wallet, the card may enter directly without having to 'verify' card again (this is even after you have deleted it from previous cards entered). The correct way to do this is to go to (close wallet app) Settings -> Wallet & Apple Pay -> (delete card) Add Card. Go through this process and choose to 'verify' card by calling your bank NOT using the app. It will fail and you will have to repeat process.

Tell bank that you need to verify your Card for Apple Pay. You will need to have the bank verify the exp date manually/update it. Once this is completed you should be able to use Card as you have in the past! [this maybe something that is a bug in the Visa verification process, I was told].
