Why are the Large icons as well as icon spacing smaller than they used to be?

Since updating to iOS 15 the large icons are smaller than they used to be and the icon spacing is smaller too. This makes them appear cramped even when selecting large icons. Will this be fixed? Is there a work around for it? I haven't tried but I’ve heard others say they can't downgrade to 14.

Please help.

Icon size on iPad Mini with iOS 15.1 my iPad mini 5th generation just updated to 15.1. It appears the update changed the icon sizes so now the large size is the same as the old regular size & the regular size icon is even smaller. Is there any way to get the old, large size icons back? And yes, I have the large icon setting in the settings turned on.

13.3 update Why are the icons smaller This happens everytime I do an update. For what seems to be an arbitray reason changes are made to the UI that make using my devices more difficult. This time the app icons are half the size they were before the update. I am not exaggerating, I have an old ipad that I am using for comparison. The same update on my iphone did not change the size of the icons. I have difficulty seeing small text or objects without my reading glasses but have never needed them to see the icons on either device. So tell me, first what was the point of making this change? and second, is there an option somewhere that allows me to upsize the icons?
