Should I take the Monterey plunge?

I've been holding off updating my OS to Monterey so that all of the bugs can get worked out. Should I take the plunge and update or should I wait longer to make sure the apps and peripherals will work properly??

It is up to you and how much you need your Mac all the time. Problems are:

  1. You need an Apple disk installed to upgrade to Monterey since the upgrade includes an update to the Mac's firmware. That update looks for an Apple disk and write to the dick to do the firmware update. The install will terminate or freeze if no Apple disk.
  2. Do you have Fusion drive? Some uses have problems upgrading Macs with Fusion drives.
  3. Some hubs do not work with Monterey.
  4. Some external drives and flash drives to not work. SanDisk and G-Drive can be troublesome and so can some others
  5. Some printers and scanners do not work since no updated drivers are available. However, Airprint ones do work without additional drivers.
  6. 5ome apps require updates to run
