Apple Watch Focus exceptions

Hi,

when placing exceptions in the settings on my iPhone, like for example just letting messages from Telegram get through the sleep focus, it works well for my iPhone, but I still don't get a notification on my Apple Watch... although the sync of focus is turned on on both devices.

Maybe this issue isn't known yet, is there any workaround for this? Thanks in advance!

Hi there yagami_light,

While we don't completely understand what's happening, we certainly want to help get notifications working as intended for your watch.

As you mentioned receiving notifications for the Telegram app in your iPhone, but not in your watch, have you tested for this same issue while your iPhone screen is locked and you're only using the watch? We ask as depending on how you're using both devices, notifications act differently. As this link has more details about what we explained, we recommend reviewing it entirely: Notifications on your Apple Watch

Is this only occurring with the Telegram app, or does the same issue occur with all app notifications in your watch?

Any steps tried so far, like a restart of both devices?

Cheers!

Hello yagami_light,

Let's continue ruling out some possible causes, along with confirming some of the details asked earlier:

  1. Does this only occur with the Telegram app, or are all app notifications affected with your watch when enabling the Sleep under the Focus settings?
  2. Has a restart been tried for both devices?
  3. If you have a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 15.1.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  4. For your watch model, the latest is watchOS 8.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to Update your Apple Watch.

We look forward to hearing about these four details in your next message. Take care until then!

Hi,

when I don’t have any focus activated, everything works properly. Notifications arrive on my Apple Watch when my iPhone screen is locked. My issue was with the sleep focus activated.

in the iPhone settings there is an option to allow notifications from certain apps. In my case, I want to allow notifications from Telegram during the sleep focus is activated.

But in the end this only works for my iPhone and not for my Apple Watch.

I hope my wording was a little more understandable now, sorry about that, non-native speaker here :)
