Mute notifies other person

Since the last update, my phone makes a sound when I press “mute” during a conversation on the phone. This is heard by the other party. They are also notified via text when my notifications are silenced. This is an invasion of privacy and very disconcerting. When will this be resolved?

The Mute button for the phone does not generate that text. There is a large thread here on the forum about the Mute making noise. At this time there is no change for that. As far as the Notifications silenced, that is set by Focus/Do Not Disturb, and you have the ability to turn that off. I don't care that it shows that I have notifications silenced, others do not understand what I have or do not have to do during the day. You will still receive the notification, you just do not get a sound. You can see it on the screen if you wish. If people decide to Notify Anyway, then can still disturb your day for you. As far as turning off the Focus notification, when you turn on DND or another custom focus, under Options turn off Focus Status.
