My Mac Mail app does not show banners

Does the same issue preset itself when computer is booted into Safe Mode ? This might some time to TEST or until an new email is received.

This method it to help identify if 1 - third party software is in play, or 2 - isolated to something in the users account

Safe mode may help you resolve or isolate problems that you’re having with your Mac.

When you start up in safe mode, your Mac prevents some software, such as startup items, from loading, and it performs a check of your startup disk. Your Mac may take longer to start up because of the check.

Welcome to the club... there is a bug, I know of no way to reinstate the functionality...even re-install the macOS to no avail.

Maybe a point up date to macOS 12.0.1 will return it
