No longer able to rotate Macbook Air Display w/ Monterey Update

Formally, you were able to rotate your display upside down for Macbook Air with the Big Sur OS. Once I updated to Monterey, the command+option keyboard shortcut while selecting display settings no longer brings up display rotation options for my 13" Macbook Air. Why is this no longer working, and how do you now rotate your display 180 degrees?

The screenshot below is all I am able to see when I click displays from system preferences. Where exactly is "display settings" located at?

+1 @ Luis Sequeira - internal Display has never been able to Rotate 180 Degrees on any Apple Computer I have on Big Sur and now Monterey.

I thought as much... but a quick web search tells me otherwise; and now I have confirmed that I was WRONG!

I just tested in my wife's mac, which is running Big Sur (too old for Monterey).

Just as I had read online, in System Preferences, by holding down Command and Option while clicking Displays, a rotation popup appears, and one can choose Standard, 90º, 180º and 270º.

In Monterey, so far I have not found a way to do it.

Which is your display exactly? I suppose you are talking about an external display and not the built-in Air display, right?

Though the organization of System Preferences has changed, the capability of rotating an external display remains. Click the Display Settings button and select the desired display. There you can change the resolution AND orientation.

Sorry, I missed your previous post where you confirmed that you were talking about the built-in display.

As I said before, I had never seen the option to rotate the built-in display, but a web search did reveal that it used to be possible. Live and learn!

Now, I tried to replicate the procedure (holding down command and option when clicking the Displays pane of System Preferences) in Monterey and it does not appear to work.

Now that I know it used to work, I'd be surprised if it had really disappeared. I am guessing there must be a way to do it.

I will do some digging and will report back if I find the solution.
