Sames as others. Brand new iPhone 13 Mini plugged in for CarPlay works fine on everything until I select music which played for about two minutes. Then it stopped with a frozen screen I had never seen before. Can play music through car system if I select it on the phone even with frozen CarPlay screen. All other functions work. iOS 15.1..1. When is Apple going to fix this?

Do you have a firmware update for your car radio? If you are unsure, we recommend checking your car manual on how to check or the car manufacturer.
Let’s forget your device from your car and reconnect it again using the steps here: Connect iPhone to CarPlay - Apple Support Are you able to play Apple Music as expected? Do you have a VPN installed? If so, please disable the VPN and let us know if Apple Music plays as expected.

Unfortunately, this did nothing to solve the issue with Apple Music for me. I have a 2021 Challenger, latest f/w on UConnect and Apple Music will not do anything except freeze with a blank screen since the update to iOS 15 (running 15.2 on 13 ProMax)
This has been going on too long - get it fixed, Apple. All other functions work fine - music is broken and useless
I did this with the old iPhone X. and of course did it with the new phone. No joy. This is an old problem apparently. I saw an earlier thread from March or April of this year with the same complaint and no smeolution there. I thought I was appending to that discussion, but a new thread opened up. I thought the iOS update last night might fix it, but it did not. The problem on the earlier thread was not isolated to one car. So it seemed to me that it was an Apple problem. I will check with my VW dealer for an update to the infotainment system.
When I first got the new phone I plugged it into the car and it played for 3 or 4 minutes. The music suddenly stopped and the CarPlay music screen was replaced with a menu that does not function. Does not scroll, does not back up and buttons are nonfunctioning. The Apple Music screen on the iphone is just white with no content. No problem going to Maps, Podcasts, etc.
We are also playing musical login. May not be Perseus06 anymore.
Just to add. My VW system allows a reboot of the CarPlay connection software as well. Did that too. Still no solution. A search of this site for "Apple Music Crashes on Carplay" gives a list of about a dozen threads on the subject. Could not find a solution, Sadly one of the things that pushed me to a new car was to get CarPlay.
My Android Play has absolutely ZERO issues - and this through 3 O/S updates
Just get it fixed - you broke it (for me) with iOS 15, shouldn't be too hard to fix...
