The non-category "Other" always shows huge. Most of that cannot
be controlled by the user. Highly documented; often questioned.
Some ideas about what the Other may be, and what can be tried to make use of it all:

on the current state of your Mac.."
Could include many extra APFS partitions
owned by System, some are not writable.
