MacBook Pro 2018, Repeated Logic Board Failures

3rd time the logic board has failed, Apple support has denied free replacement even though the last two replacement was done by the authorised service centre.


As a matter of fact the service centre was so helpful because they had the history they escalated the issue to Apple, but Apple customer service manager was quick enough to reject the replacement request.


I had to buy a new Mac Mini meanwhile but honestly if a board can’t survive for more than 1 why wasn’t it recalled ?


I am still trying to get this escalated but hopefully Apple won’t let us down.

It would be highly unusual to have the logic board fail 3 times; probably to the point of being mathematically improbable. If the issue was widespread, there would likely be a recall. There may be something isolated to your device only which hasn't been diagnosed or exacerbated by your usage; I'd start there.

Yeah but it would highly unlikely that the same service centre which has replaced the last two boards cannot pin point the issue. Normal working condition and next morning laptop just won’t turn on. Still with service centre. Trying to talk to Customer support.
