Airplay to IKEA speakers disconnects

In general, Airplay to IKEA Symfonisk speakers works well.

However, it doesn't always keep the connection between Symfonisk and iPad alive when it's not used for a while, unlike HomePod.

Is there a way to fix this?

I'm using the latest software on all devices.

Greetings, FreekM.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! We understand that you’re curious about the reasons your HomePod stays connected to your iPad but your Symfonisk sometimes loses the connection, and we'd be delighted to offer some suggestions that may help.

We want to be transparent in letting you know that you may need to reach out to IKEA support for guidance with your speaker.

Keep in mind that your HomePod was designed to work with the software on your iPhone and utilizes Wi-Fi, iCloud and other security features to keep you connected.

We did do some preliminary research on your Symfonisk speaker(s) and we wanted to share this great resource:

SYMFONISK FAQs - IKEA

- Are you using the Sonos app?

- How far is the Symfonisk from your router?

- Are you connected to the same network and band as your iPhone? Note that some Wi-Fi networks will have 5 Ghz or 2.4 Ghz bands, different options for guests, etc. You may need to ensure you’re connected to the same Wi-FI network and your iPhone is within range of your connection.

All Our Best.
