Bluetooth connection rejected

Since downloading and installing Monterey onto my 6 month old MacMini I am no longer able to connect my apple mouse to the MacMini via Bluetooth. Error Message received is "Bluetooth Connection Rejected."

Turned the mouse on and off, replaced batteries yet problem still remains. Anyone know why is the case and how to fix the problem?

Thanks

dcb60's Jan 3 solution works! Had the same problem with an Apple Trackpad, Mini 2018, Monterey 12.1. Plugged it in. (It works, Sys Prefs/Trackpad shows battery level, but clicking on Set Up Bluetooth Trackpad yields No Trackpad Found. However, unplugged it and it still works! And Sys Prefs/Bluetooth shows the (now unplugged) Trackpad connected! Go figure. Happy New Year everyone!

Hi Kev Bate,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're unable to connect your Magic Mouse to your Mac mini since upgrading. Let's see how we can help. There are some additional steps you can try here: If you can't connect your Magic Keyboard, Magic Mouse, or Magic Trackpad to your Mac.

If the issue persists test your Magic Mouse with a new administrator account. This will help with determining if the issue is specific to one account. If needed, this article will walk you through how to create another user: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.

Cheers.
