iOS 15.2 Battery Drain
Is anyone experiencing battery drain since updating to iOS 15.2? If so, any tips for what to do about it? I just updated this morning. Thanks!

raffeph ~ We can't "fix the problem with next update" – because we're just users like yourself. Ask Apple to fix it here:

Still draining with the latest update, though odd behaviour with 100% for a while then a sudden drop off and then a bit of a plateau and then further drain and so on. Hardly anything actually on (notifications off, background off etc). Battery is fine according to the battery section (if that means anything). All happened with the update of 15 and then to 15.1 and 15.2. Mentioned it to friends who are on 14 and they are now not moving to 15. Apple truly need to fix this issue otherwise many will just stay on 14. I am using an iPhone 7 but it is a year old (though obviously been sitting around somewhere waiting for me to buy it)
One more argument against replacing battery as a way to solve the problem is that there are lots of people who have quite new phones (like me - 3-months-old 12 mini) which suffer from this bug as well. What are the chances that we have non-genuine batteries? Apple quality control is sort of best in class.
Apple officially announced in 2021 that 14.x major version will be supported in parallel with 15.x. Now we know why. They most probably expected that there are tons of new features in 15.x that would most probably introduce bugs (which is exactly what happened as we see), and allowed to postpone upgrade to 15.x line.
Some corporations my friends work for did it - good decision.
Lesson learned.
I’ve got the new version yesterday. The overnight drain seems to be fixed.
Just charged my phone to 82% and the battery dropped only 2% during the night time.
Still got some issues while using instagram or facebook: the phone get so hot and the battery drain so fast while watching stories on instagram, that i’m barely using both apps for too long.
Hoping that’ll be fixed. My IP11 only have 4 months of use and 97% of battery health.

Bootloop1 ~ With an older iPhone model such as the 7, it's worth checking the battery...
Does your iPhone 7 still have its original battery?
And what's the Maximum Capacity % here?...

For those curious about 15.2.1 – iOS 15.2.1 Battery Drain / Battery Performance Test. I just bumped into it accidentally on YouTube.
So basically every phone (except XR, 11 and 12) becomes a bit worse as iSO version number increases. The exception is iPhone 13 which behaves MUCH worse on 15.x version than on 14.x.
EDIT: The same could concern iPhone 12, but no measurements for 14.x version were performed.
My new 2020 iPhone SE won't charge until it dies completely after latest update iOS 15.2.1, even with "Optimized Charging" turned off. All cables and chargers are brand new and work fine with my 2017 iPad Pro. Another issue after updating to my 2014 Mac mini from Monterey 12.0.1 to 12.1 I can no longer connect via bluetooth to my iPhone SE, immediately after pairing MacOS disconnects then my iPhone shows a window saying my Mac mini is unsupported. Apple did this because Everything worked fine before the updates!
Actually it even got much worse with 15.2.1 for my SE 2nd gen. Now it survives for 2.5 hours at most, while with 15.2 it lasted for about 4-5 hours. So it looks like Apple didn't really fix anything in iOS but rather just broke it even more. I recommend everyone to stay away from both 15.2 and 15.2.1.
Yes its become worse. I was gonna not be posting here anymore as Apple is removing comments that they don’t agree with.
Having said that, the developers and whoever is doing these updates do not reference these boards at all.- This is more group therapy for us… Even in terms of direct feedback through a separate link they are not even acknowledging that. This is just one of those issues that we are now stuck with as Apple have degraded battery life with iOS 15 permanently. Very unlikely to stick with an iPhone at this rate.
Funny thing is that Apple are now forcing people to upgrade to 15.x version as if 15.x has reached stable phase already. That's terrible news. I still hope that situation is caused by lots of bugs that are yet to be fixed and situation will improve. Maybe developers are not reading theses boards because they're perfectly aware of problems discussed here. We'll see.
BTW. Apple still allow to downgrade to 15.2 should somebody feel that 15.2.1 behaves much worse.
Without a doubt iOS 15 is a timed drain on my phone. No matter how much use I have had it will always be in red by 11 PM. It did not work in Apple‘s favor for the battery to be strong the way is used to be in ios14. This is the case with several other people that I know. A real shame.
Weird experience with my 6s today. I have like many of you experienced big drops in battery even with no usage and with 15.2.1 it’s even worse.
However the weird experience I mention is this, today my battery was at 47%. I wasn’t looking at my phone for less than an hour and when I did it was at 1%.
I just immediately thought, this is too bizarre so I decided to not charge it until it died. Now it has been many many hours of normal usage including having Twitch on, using Xbox apps, browsing Safari etc and my phone is still going at 1%.
Now I know a video above was actually showing the phones turning off after just a few hours but could there also be a problem with this update where the phones are indicating a low battery when it is absolutely not the case?
Omg! That graph is atrocious and outrageous 🤣. When my iphone 7 updated from iOS 14.7 to 14.8 it was bad, but not as bad as yours.
it improved after a few full discharge and recharge cycles.
iOS 15 brought back the glorious drain😎
