CarPlay not working after 15.2

I have tried all of the suggested things from previous posts. I have tried using a different USB connection, I have tried all that has been suggested, let me make that clear. Rebooted iPhone, been through all the settings, forgot the device from the car and from the phone. CarPlay does not work after 15.2 update.

please give me other options to try.

Hi there Cglennrichardson,

Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand that CarPlay doesn't work after updating your iPhone to iOS 15.2, and you've tried some good steps so far. Let's see how we can help. Although CarPlay worked before updating your iPhone, double check Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled. If everything checks out, find out if there's a firmware update for your stereo. You may need to look in the manual or contact the car manufacturer. Learn more here: If you need help with CarPlay.

Best regards.

After upgrading the iPhone 13 to v.15.2, it unfortunately broke the Carplay connection with the Sony XAV-AX5500D radio. Flipping through the menu is very slow during a call, and frame-by-frame animations during a phone call. Telephone connected with original cable. Before the update, it was very fast, today I am wondering if I should go back to Android Auto.

Please help... :(

I have another problem after updating my Iphone 11 to 15.2. When using it with Intellilink from Opel/Vauxhalt my Siri will call but I don’t hear the audio from the call. I think it’s a glitch with this update. If I call manually from my car’s screen, it works great, but if I tell Siri to do so, doesn’t work.

Anyone having similar problems?

Please, any support is welcomed!

Had to purchase a new phone because my google pixel 3 finally gave up the ghost. Google hadn’t brought out the pixel 6 yet & I decided to go back to the iPhone. Bought a new iPhone 13 & within a few months time, I wasn’t receiving alerts for text messages & when in my 2019 vehicle, if I was on the phone, at exactly the 2 minute mark, my car dropped yet my phone was still active & showing the Bluetooth symbol. The person on the other end of the call could hear my cursing but I couldn’t hear them. I did every single thing that Apple suggested to fix the text alert as well as the CarPlay problem. Absolutely nothing seem to go as it is supposed to go. I did figure out that if I erased all of my text messages, received a new text message, I would receive an alert. That’s just crap! I can only get text message alerts if I erase everything is just wrong. I finally got so fed up with it all I called Verizon & said I know this is an Apple issue however, you sold me the phone so either give me another brand or get me an Apple that doesn’t have the update. Verizon send me a phone they say gets pulled & used as a test phone. I was skeptical but I went along with it. They did what I asked. They sent me an apple that was supposed to work. As soon as I got it started, lo and behold it, it did exactly the same thing as my previous iPhone. So at this point I’m at a crossroads. Do I send this iPhone back & have Verizon give me another brand of phone for the same value as the Apple or do I wait & see if Apple is going to be able to come up with a fix, a true fix that actually will FIX this problem.

The only way I can get music to start music is through my phone, with limited access and function of the stereo. If I get a phone call it glitches again, additionally I lose call history in the heads up display.

I’ve owned my 2014 335x for 5 years and this has been a sporadic but unrelenting frustration. I pay for an Apple Music subscription with limited function while waiting for the guys at the Genius Bar to discover how to make Bluetooth connection work.

I had a similar issue with my 2018 BMW. Upgrading to iOS 15.3 did not help. Basically went through all Bluetooth connection instructions, then boom - failed to connect.

Then I remembered that there is also a wifi connection to the car in the mix. Sure enough, when I checked, it hadn’t connected. Why? Because the auto-join option was turned off. Connected manually first to check. Presto, it worked! Then turned on auto-join, and started from the beginning.

Everything works fine now. 👍
