Hi HBB60,

We understand you would like to see what band your Wi-Fi router is broadcasting over. We're happy to offer some guidance.

There isn't a way to tell from an iPhone what band the Wi-Fi network is using, unless the router is using the default network names or you distinctively named each band if you changed the default names. For example, say you're using a Linksys brand dual band Wi-Fi router. Out of the box, the router will broadcast two default network names, "Linksys-2G" indicating the 2.4 GHz band, and "Linksys-5G" indicating the 5.0 GHz band. If you've customized the network names, then it's a good idea to add the 2G and 5G to the end of the names you use so you know which network is what band.

If the Wi-Fi network name does not have the 2G or 5G in it, then you'll have to go in to your router settings to see which name is associated with which band. If this is the case, when you're in the settings you may also want to edit the network names and add the 2G/5G distinction to them so you can easily identify the networks in the future.

Hope this helps. Cheers!
