Hello BoneDeadfossil48,

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having issues with CarPlay. First, is the stereo system "stock" to your vehicle? Is your automobile listed here: CarPlay? If so, have you tried following the suggestions provided in article, If you need help with CarPlay?

There are also a few other actions you can try. Be sure to test if CarPlay is working correctly after each one:

  1. Remove your protective case from your iPhone to ensure you're getting a proper connection to your cable.
  2. Test with a different or shorter cable.
  3. Forget the stereo from Settings > General > CarPlay > (stereo name).
  4. Forget the iPhone from your stereo system. Refer to the User Manual if you're not sure of the process.
  5. Rename the iPhone in Settings > General > About > Name.
  6. Reset your iPhone network settings. ( Step #7 from If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won’t connect to a Wi-Fi network)

Keep us posted on how it goes and let us know the results.

Best regards.
