Password Autofill - Turned Off Keychain, but Keychain Still Tries to Autofill

I have had this issue whilst trying to use LastPass and Bitwarden.

I have enabled them as my Password Manager in Settings > Passwords > AutoFill Passwords, checking AutoFill Passwords, placing a tick beside my chosen Password Manager and ensuring that no tick is shown beside Keychain.

Intermittently, when trying to access my Password Manager to login to a website through Chrome (by tapping "Passwords" at the top of the keyboard), I end up seeing the Keychain popup. The Keychain which I disabled...

I have tried toggling things back and forth, but it still fails to operate as expected.

Hello Lucanos_Aus,

Apple Support Communities is a great place for help with the AutoFill Passwords feature, and ensuring the correct options appear as expected. From the description you provided, it sounds as though you’re continuing to see passwords appear from iCloud Keychain, even though that setting is disabled. We're glad you've had the opportunity to verify iCloud Keychain is not selected in Settings > Passwords > AutoFill Passwords. To confirm, having you restarted your iPhone since having this issue? If not, you can find the steps for restarting in the following article.

Restart your iPhone

If restarting doesn’t resolve the issue, you’ll want to make sure you’re running the latest iOS. While we see you’re running iOS 15, there have been several updates since the intial iOS 15 release. You can find the steps for updating in the article below.

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Let us know how that goes!

Thank you for those details Lucanos_Aus,

We’re glad you had the opportunity to restart your iPhone, and are running iOS 15.1. Apple has released iOS 15.2, and updating to that version may help with reaching a resolution. For reference, the Update your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch article previously linked outlines those steps.

If you continue to have issues after updating iOS, the next step would be to contact Apple. You can find their contact details via the Get Support website.

Take care!
