When I search for a document (pdf, doc or odt) from my USB memory stick in the find bar, I can see and locate the document that I want. The issue comes when I double click to open it (or when I hit the space bar for a preview), the document is a different one, mainly from random, older folders. This has happened already several times. I had to close the system and start over. This solution is disrupting. Is there another way to get this fixed?

I have only noticed it on my documents in the external hard-drive, which happens to work perfectly on another Macbook. This is the only external hard-drive that I have used in the last months. The format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
