Apple Maps - Traffic Laws
My home province is Nova Scotia. Apple Maps appears to know the traffic laws for my province. When it a U-Turn is required it says something like "where allowed make a U-Turn". It knows that U-Turns are allowed unless that are signs posted that say No U-Turns (white sign with the letter U with a red circle around the letter and a red line drawn through the letter top left to bottom right).
This week I am in British Columbia. Apple Maps uses a different phrase here for U-Turns. The phrase is "Make a U-Turn". No warning about only where it is allowed. It turns out that in British Columbia U-Turns are illegal. Today I received a $175.00 ticket for making a U-Turn.
Why is Apple Maps correct for Nova Scotia and incorrect for British Columbia? The laws for both provinces have been on the books for years. If Apple doesn't know the laws for a specific region it should ensure its software is not advising the driver to break the law.
I tried to report this issue within the App and there is no option for reporting anything like this.
Also within this forum there is no topic for Apple Maps.
