Battery drain on watch series 7

Apple lists the battery length of an Apple watch as "up to 18 hours" so, yes, you'll need to charge it every day.

I have had the Apple Watch series 7 for 4 days now. I bought 3 of them for myself, wife and daughter. And I am extremely disappointed in the battery quality of this watch. My wife just moved over to iPhone and Apple Watch and are experiencing the same short battery life. She wants to go back to Samsung and Android. Since I convinced her that iPhone/Apple Watch is better she is already wanting to switch back to android because of the poor quality of apple products. Prove me wrong at this point. A watch that cannot last a full 24 hours is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous.

I charge the Watch to 100% before going to bed but by 2pm, the battery is down to 15% and have to charge it again.

I'm having the same issue. My Series 7 watch was lasting just over a day, now for some unknown reason, it's only lasting about 2/3 of the day. Not what is advertised on the tin!!! @Apple when are you going to recall and fix this???

I haven’t opened the box yet. Still having calls with Senior engineers. Have one tonight. They finally were able to get the Watch to update to os8.5.1 but still had the same battery drain. Then Monday night they ran a battery diagnostic on the Watch. Since Monday ii have been tacking pictures of the battery drain and sending them to the engineer I’m working with. We’ll see what they have to say tonight.

With most of the background bells and whistles deactivated, I get around 16 hours on my 7-series, but I get 30 hours on my 5-series watch. They are setup identically, both have activated cellular, and connect to the same 12 Pro Max phone using Apple's automatic watch switching. I'd like for the 7 to run at least as long as the 5 and allow usage of the capabilities both have. Come on Apple, what gives?

Their - Apple’s - original post says 18 hours BEST CASE scenario with Apple Watch 7. They know the problem. They produced the watch 7 WITH that problem! 18 hours best case means NOTHING on except showing you the time. You run anything else it will die within hours especially hefty apps they actually tout on the watch like ECG, workout, etc, etc. It’s simply a POS put on the market to make them even more money. Time to drop Apple and move to Samsung. They have far surpassed Apple in watches and phones.

I have had the same issue, since update! My watch isn’t even 12 months old yet. So disappointed in the performance of such an expensive item. My hubby explained when buying that it was for fall assistance & he was assured it would be perfect for me, but if I don’t charge it a couple times a day now it’s useless. 😡

yes I am facing similar issues with Apple Watch 7 that is only a month. I guess Apple goofed up on this one gadget that is spectacular in feature than the lot, but with this kind of battery life, its better to switch to a cheaper clone. I feel cheated by Apple for the first time in my life.

Yes! I’ve only had Fitbit watches and could get 2 days of battery life but on this Apple series 7 I can barely get through the day. I have most notifications turned off. I even charged it mid morning and it was on 10% battery by the evening. So frustrating! I’ve only had it for just over 2 weeks.

I'm joining what is clearly a growing crowd of those who are very dissatisfied with the Apple series 7 watch. When I got this last Christmas, it seemed to work OK. I was able to use the watch the entire day without charging it, and I would turn it off at night and would find that it would last almost the entire next day. Now, unfortunately, if the charge lasts more than seven hours it's a miracle! I think I'll have to get rid of the watch and go back to my old TIMEX. Sad to say this, since there were certain functions relating to exercise, cardiology, etc. that could be useful -- but not when the watch is dead!

Thanks for your note. I'm glad your Series 7 watch works well. I just wish I could say the same for mine. I had big hopes for the functions it would do.

Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion, so why then are you here saying things like "no one cares what you buy" when obviously that's the exact opposite of allowing someone else besides you to "have their own opinion"? ALSO, for curiosity's sake, why you are on this thread reading about the battery drain on the Apple Watch 7 if you are so happy with it?

Also, instead of insulting Getnsmart, why don't you offer a real solution that you have found to slow the battery drain on the 7 since apparently you have?

Being entitled to an opinion is not the same thing as being entitled to have other people agree with or even care about your opinion. My pointing out that expressing a particular opinion here will probably not achieve the hoped for result is not the same thing as telling people not to express an opinion.

I have a very intention when I tell people that complaining here is of limited you utility and they should use the feedback page: I'm trying to help them get their thoughts in front of Apple where they may effect change.
