Battery drain on watch series 7

I just got the apple watch series 7 a couple of weeks ago and have been experiencing short battery life. Even with most functions/ background app refresh etc turned off, the watch can only last 10 hours after a full charge. It can barely get through a work day. Battery % drops close to 10% per hour.

Have tried resetting, unpairing etc, hasn't worked to resolve this issue.

This happened on watchOS 8.1.1 and 8.3.

Does any one else have this problem?

I agree. It drove me nuts too!

I ended up making an appointment with the Genius Bar because all other methods had failed me.

Was told that the watch battery was likely discharging abnormally.

Exchanged it for a new one - battery life seems ok on this one. But I will try it out for a few days first before making any conclusions.

Same problem here. Very disappointed. 7 Series battery dropped from 100% to 77% in less than 2 hours with just a few text message alerts. My 3 Series would last about 26-28 hours without needing a charge. This is completely unacceptable. I don't know if I should bring it to the Genius Bar or if they are just going to send me packing because obviously it is not a problem they can duplicate on the spot.

Hello! I notice this on my watch 7. I have 98% in the morning. I walk about 6 km. I get home at 12 with 90%. Then i use youtube on my iphone with the watch on my hand. I see the little “now playing” indicator on the watch at the begining but after 2 minutes i put the watch on my desk and i keep watching youtube. At 16 i want to get out again and i notice that i have 50-60% battery. How is this possible!? Any solutions?

please excuse mu english!!

It was my first apple watch. In the past i had samsung gear when i was on android. Then when i come back to iphone i used Honor watch gs pro. It is 100% compatible with iphone, except you cant buy watchfaces. But for the 150-200 euro you get 2-3 weeks with one charge with calls, oxygen level, etc etc.

In my opinion it is NOT normal to pay 500 euro or more, to deactivate everything for just one day. And by the way one day in Apple opinion is 18 hours. Since i was little i know that one day has 24 hours.

I Have phone Apple many times about this and they will not accept that the Watch has been checked thoroughly by repair centre and my wife’s series 5 and mine have charged on all the old series Apple chargers until when we updated to 8.3 her series 5 carried on as before mine has absolutely not since that day.

even if I called them again they will say again I must have my Watch remotely diagnosed for hours as they did before.

Thanks for replying but not an option
