Double click to open file not working in preview mode in Finder any longer...when will Apple fix?

There are some functions that you just start to love. One of those was that when going through files and hitting the spacebar to get a full size preview, you could just double click the preview window to open the file.

After updating to Monterey, this was one function that improves productivity that no longer worked. No you have to hit the spacebar again and double click on the file itself.

Highly annoying that this still has not been resolved.

Now you only have to click once on the text at the top right that says "Open with ****".

Thanks!

that almost solves the problem. I'd still like to have the option of double clicking too, as you might be reading the content and double clicking anywhere in the whole preview windows is still better than having to move the cursor to the top corner, although still better than having to close the preview windows.

Adding this function can only add to productivity as you rarely double click by mistake (as oppose to single click that could happen easier).

Have a good one!
