I have a 2013 Thunderbolt Display that has been a problem-free champ for my small business. For the past year, I have used it with a 2020 Mac Mini M1. A week ago it started blinking on and off. I have checked all the connections, but that hasn't changed anything. Is it time to buy a new monitor?
I have one also and lately especially with the newer macOS its acting wonky. I'm looking for a new display.
Currently I do use a Dell U3219Q which has worked fine from Sierra thru Monterey. Its 4k and sleeps well with Mac. Even its 27 inch 4k cousin works well.

It could be the cable or your TB3 to TB2 adapter. I would get a TB cable and connect directly to the open TB port on the monitor. This will validate if the octopus cable is bad. Also try another adapter (I know not cheap).
Thanks. I waited to get past the Christmas crush and have ordered a TB cable. Will try your suggestion and hope for the best.
I had the exact same thing happen with my TB display which was the built in cable which was failing. I purchased a Thunderbolt 1/2 cable and plugged it into the open TB port on the back of the display and have used it that way ever since.
