Apple ID compromised?

I received a pop-up as well as a text. The pop-up said to change my password and the text sent by 81961 provided a 6-digit verification code. I tapped on the change password….. does this mean they hacked into my phone?

I seen 81961 is a scam number, what should I do? I just reset my password once more.

If you changed your password then you're probably okay. If you have two factor authenticaiton set then it acts as a another level of security.

Always be leery of email messages and text messages. Scams (e-mail, text messages, and phone calls) are getting very good at closely imitating true Apple communications. Always be cautious. Here are some guidelines:

If you are uncertain about a message and a resource provided in that message, do not click on any links in the message. Try to independently verify the resource by going to a support page on apple.com and use that to contact Apple or to use the service the message is telling you to use.
