Why does iTunes limit the resolution of a redeemed movie to 720p?

I bought the Blu-ray of No Time To Die. There is digital code supplied. I tried to redeem the code in iTunes 12.6.2.20 and received the following message:

Why is this movie being limited to 720P when on the purchase page of iTunes it says downloading 1080P?

I can't find any settings in iTunes preferences to avoid this.

I am running MacOS 10.12.6 Sierra and iTunes 12.6.2.20.

With the downloaded movie selected try Movie > Video Quality > High Definition (1080p).

There are 2 films known to deliver that weird message on iTunes: No Time to Die, and Chaos Walking.

Oddly, when either film downloads (if you opt to download it), the file name says "(1080 HD)" but the file itself is a dumbed-down 720 version.

As you experienced, all other films download in real 1080 HD just fine.

It came from an older thread where 1080p downloads were defaulting to playing in 720p, so I was hoping it might help. Not something I've personally tested however.

Thanks for your response. I tried what you suggested but the entire Movie menu was greyed out, on both the Account > Redeem screen and on the product page itself.
