‘i’ always capitalised

I’m suddenly having an issue while using Word, with the magic keyboard on my ipad, where ‘i’ will always be capitalised if I’m starting a new word, so in ends up In, and in the middle of a sentence it’s not right. It doesn’t seem to be anywhere else, just when using Word. I’ve turned auto-capitalisation off and tried hitting shift a few times before typing but that only seems to work sometimes. I just really need a fix for this.
