iPhone being tapped externally

Both my iphone and my girlfriends iphone is being tapped. It's been confirmed with the person tapping our phones sending us screenshots of our texts to each other. There is no physical way that this person got a hold of our phones. I've checked both our phones and there are no suspicious apps that can be seen and we've both did factory rests twice now. Any ideas how they might be doing this? I'm thinking the perpetrators are using an external device of some sort and going through our home wifi. Any ideas would be greatly apprecieated!

That's not possible.

What is possible is that they have access to one or both of your iCloud accounts.

You both need to change your iCloud passwords and enable 2 factor authentication.
