App store on iPad asks to scan text, rather than let me enter password - why?

I keep being asked to enter my personal info for various sites but no keyboard shows up. I am prompted to scan text, but no text appears.what do I do to fill in the required info???

Good point! Only one post got a response from an Apple tech and they didn’t even offer a solution.

You would think someone at Apple would be monitoring the extent of this problem and they would fix it. But no, they don’t. We get a vent opportunity and they do nothing.

Yes, I am finding this problem with not allowing keyboard too. It is extremely irritating and again I feel like giving up with Apple altogether.

I have the same problem when I try to buy an app. when I want to sign into my account I cannot write the password because I am asked to scan the text.

The exact problem still exists at the end of June 2022. There must be a work around by now. What is it? David

Turning it off only works occasionally, generally it does not.

Same problem.Don’t know why it’s happened but prompt is to scan text. And I’ve tried entering my passcode on another IPad it it copies it multiple times and I still can’t get in, can you help

Just make sure you're running the lastest update this should magically fix the problem so done with apple
