Just bought Audi Q8 2021 and was trying to connect car play to use google maps on my iPhone 12 pro.
After two days of frustration went to Audi dealer and technician there told me that iPhones 12 and 13 cannot be connected. On his iPhone 11 he had the same iOS 15.2 but his phone was recognised by my car right away. Maybe new iOS 15.3 will fix this problem.
Did you try and update the software on the Audi? Either wirelessly or downloading on a computer and transferring to a USB drive and then installing?
The only thing is to wait for Audi. It looks like they might need to update their software. I really doubt that an iOS update will resolve the issue as the iPhone 12 has been out for over a year now and it does not work.

I found this. Nowhere does it say that the iPhones 12 and 13 do not work on the Q8. Apparently BT is also available. Are you trying to connect it via wire or wireless?
Audi doesn't have new upgrades. The last one they had was in May 2021 and my car is July 2021. Audi technician said that lot of people have the same problem with new model iPhones and iOS 15.2.
Maybe the Audi software needs to be updated...not the other way around?
I did ask them the same question but they said "NO" this is iOS problem because on iOS 14 everything was working fine
Both. Today connected my daughters iPhone 11 with that same iOS 15.2 - everything is working fine - and wire, and bluetooth.
