You can use any USB-C port on a personal computer.

You can use the USB-C charger from recent Macbook Pro, iPhone or iPad

if you have an older Apple Watch, you can use its charging puck and power brick.

Or as as FoxFifth suggests, get a USC-C charger from any vendor. 20watt to enable Series 7 Fast charging.

I understand authentic Apple Branded chargers still work. I understand 3rd part MFI Certified chargers still work. I understand a lot of people bought non-certified 3rd party chargers, which may not work. What else is it you think I should understand? If companies steal codes and sell products, which are not certified, their products may not work forever.

Otherwise, I'm not sure just what you are expecting to get in this forum? We don't work for Apple. If you are unhappy or want to express your thoughts to Apple, this isn't the place to do it. Use the feedback link for Apple Watch, which I'm sure has already been linked in this thread, but here it is again --> Feedback - Apple Watch - Apple

Just a point that makes feedback not possible. Just click on your advice to fill up this form. This is about 8.3 and it is not on the drop down list. If it is not clicked on it won’t be sent !!!

So, you're saying none of you did any research, nor looked at "What's included in the box" before you plunked down your money? Had any of you done that, it's clearly noted what you get. Apple hasn't included a charging plug in Apple Watch, nor iPhone for a few generations now.

In every Apple Watch model when you select buy, you are presented the following (model and band randomly selected):

What’s in the Box

  • Blue Aluminum Case
  • Sport Loop
  • 1m Magnetic Fast Charger to USB‑C Cable

This valid question surely. Not expected to buy this Watch and have no means of using it when it came out of the box.

DononApple has been told as everywhere else on this forum to just charge it with a usb c charger.

None of us were told when we bought this latest series Watch that we must not forget to buy from Apple a £19 usb c charger or your Watch will not charge after Dec 13th 8.3 update or else it will not charge.

Nor told that we will only be able to use this one additionally bought charger to be able to use it will only work with the one and only Wall charger with the one and only usb c charger lead. We will not be able to use like before 8.3 every charger and lead we have ever had in any room and floor in the house. All these many previous working chargers sent to e-waste.

Nor able to use the car USB A 5v charger in the car and on the side all modern sofas we happily used.

Hopefully because of this affecting so many customers and Apple trying to now being seen to going completely away from their environmental carbon emission promise they will bring out 8.3.1

There's no reason to blame your daughter. Thank her for the terrific gift, then go out and spend a few dollars and buy a charging plug. Best Buy sells the Anker Nano 20W USB C plug for about $16 and it works great.

Ps: You must be remembering getting an Apple Watch Series 5. When Apple brought out Apple Watch 6 and SE, they too did not come with a charging plug, just like Apple Watch 7

At Apple's September 15 event, Lisa Jackson, Apple's VP of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives noted the following, in regards to the removal of the Apple Watch charging brick

I am from the UK you I assume you are talking about the above.

in the UK 2020 was the last time a charger plug was included. The statement was the same for us why it was.

It was explained that it should not affect us as we were all likely to have older series Watches and of course IPhones with chargers and leads AND ALL WOULD STILL WORK. Well as you can see since 8.3 on Dec 13th 2021 they don’t now

Jan 13, 2022 6:55 AM in response to Georgyboy3

I have my original Apple Watch charger from my first Apple Series 3 Watch. It charges my Series 7 Watch just fine. I have at least 3 different 3rd party, but ALL MFI Certified chargers I've used over the years, which ALL charge my Series 7 Watch just fine. If you have chargers which don't, as we've suggested to you, they are likely aftermarket, 3rd party, Non-MFI Certified chargers and yes, they may not charge your watch.

I have done this and even clicked on 8.1 and proceeded to tell them that it is best to get the list up to date to not deter customers from feedback. Especially likely for any rogue build like 8.3 in this case

This was over a month ago.

Still no 8.3 in the drop down list

Out of interest you have you lobsterghost1 done so ? Have you??

This is not uncommon and something I've done many times previously

May I ask if you have

Jan 15, 2022 3:38 PM in response to Georgyboy3

I haven't complained about not having a charging brick nor for any chargers which don't work post 8.3 because I knew my Series 7 watch wasn't coming with a charging plug and I already had some. And none of the MFI Certified 3rd party chargers I own stopped working after the update. So no, I have not provided feedback to Apple on this subject.

But the fact 8.3 doesn't show up on the dropdown list wouldn't stop me from providing feedback if I wanted to provide feedback. If you were expecting someone at Apple to respond to you after providing feedback, they don't and they won't. It's clearly noted on the feedback form that submissions are read, but not responded to.

May I just explain my post was very succinct

I have done this and even clicked on 8.1 and proceeded to tell them that it is best to get the list up to date to not deter customers from feedback. Especially likely for any rogue build like 8.3 in this case

This was over a month ago.

No answer as they say so, but not even corrected this either after a month of this disastrous 8.3 which is leading to millions of tons of e-waste against all of Apple’s promises by Kate Jackson 2015 !! Apples Environmental Officer to reduce not increase e-waste.

So. Still no 8.3 in the drop down list

Out of interest you have you lobsterghost1 sent feedback about a not fit for purpose feedback form ? Have you and if not why please. I remind you of the below

This is not uncommon and something I've done many times previously

I had to read through your lengthy reply but would still like a specific answer to the succinct question please

Jan 15, 2022 4:26 PM in response to Georgyboy3

Don't take what I was referring to out of context. When I said it's not uncommon I was referring only to the OS list being out of date. Nothing more was meant or implied. If for some reason, that's not clear enough for you, it means I have selected an out of date OS version as the version I wanted to send feedback about, but specifically wrote in my comments what version I wanted to report an issue.

I have never had a need to suggest to Apple ANYTHING was not fit for purpose. Not having a charging plug in the box, when Apple never suggested one would be included, does not qualify as not fit for purpose.

Jan 16, 2022 12:54 AM in response to lobsterghost1

I think it is fair to expect that if any drop down I list on the feedback form does not have the absolute latest version on the day on the actual roll out day it will deter customers.

Especially lwhen reasons for change in software build come along at such a fast rate lately.

This is, because of late, these updates do not do what they are intended or more than likely chuck in a load of bugs.

Because of this seemingly lack of testing before rolling out it is surely of utmost importance to keep this list up to date.

The sad thing that in a few of my posts in the last weeks and even yesterday I have explained that over a month ago I sent such feedback that 8.3 was not on there with the highest 8.1 ticked and a month on and with all this they have not bothered to update.

Also I have a month old Apple chat thread still going today. A month ago a “senior assistant” said they would escalate the list problem a month ago too so obviously they had no luck either

Why no charging block, I have no new charging blocks
