I have a used apple tv i upgraded to the latest OS but it says activation failed and airplay doesnt work. I dont have a usb c connection only a power cord . Is there any way to fix this?

Okay, you bought a used Apple TV 3. Did the original owner do a reset to factory condition before you bought it, if not they did you no favors and you should return it for a refund as you cannot use it.

Crap i just saw this - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253363850. Apple decided to convert these devices into paperweights.
Yeah a used apple tv just so i can get airplay on an old tv. Model is A1469.
I am able to reset it so i dont understand why it would fail to activate. Ill just request a refund i guess. Apple digital rights and password policies are maddening.
