2020 Macbook Pro 13" M1 (Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) Using more than 1 External Display

I have seen a lot of post regarding the 2020 Macbook Pro 13" M1 (Two Thunderbolt 3 ports) only being able to use 1 external display, either due to memory and software constraints. Is this something we can expect to be corrected in a software update in the future, and if so, how long? Or is this the capabilities of this model and won't ever be changed?
