Apple TV offer issue

I have received an offer in my settings on my iPhone of free Apple TV for one year after a recent purchase. I’ve tried to accept it multiple times but it just freezes, I’ve shut down my iPhone but still am unable to accept the offer.

What purchase? When? The offer from Apple is a promotion for buying a new iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV box, or Mac. The offer had to be redeemed within the first 90 days.


offer for one year

For the offer from Apple, the duration of the offer period was reduced to 3 months per July 1st.

Read here if you have trouble redeeming: If you can't redeem your promotion for an Apple subscription - Apple Support

The offer from Apple has to be redeemed on your new eligible Apple device, in the TV app.

For Macs, users have to additionally sign in to the TV app (menu Account), for the redeem option to appear.

I can’t explain why it says “Free Year”. As far as I know, that duration offer isn’t available anymore.

The offer is for the first user of the new device (i.e. your son), regardless of who made the purchase. The offer should be redeemed on the new eligible device, not on your iPhone.

You may be able to share the Apple TV+ subscription if you have set up Family Sharing.
