Turn off bright screen at wake time?

I use Sleep in Apple Health for bedtime/wake time and now my Apple Watch is lighting up to full brightness a few minutes before my morning alarm. This has the **completely unpleasant effect** of being awoken by someone shining a full-strength flashlight directly into my eyes. Even turning my watch while on its charger to face some other direction doesn’t help because of the overwhelming brightness of the display in my dark room.

How do I turn off this horrible feature? (Really, I want to emphasize this is *absolutely horrible.*)

Hello Vossome,

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with your sleep mode and your Apple Watch. We will be happy to assist you.

When that is turned on, it is normal to see the screen go to full brightness. What happens whenever you enable Theater Mode at bedtime as well? Use Control Center on your Apple Watch
