Apple Watch SE auto dimming

I am picking up on an earlier discussion about the SE’s inability to allow user control of the auto-dimming “feature” (url below). I just purchased the SE after years of contentment with my Series 1 and 3. It is terribly frustrating now with the SE to struggle with the brightness in low light. I really am asking with desperation that user control returns soon. I must admit that I have low light visual impairment. Accommodations are made for many disabilities and this needs that kind of attention. I care very little about any impact to battery usage associated with screen brightness if control is a user based toggle. In the meantime, I’ll have to decide if a new 3 or reverting to my 1 again is the way to go. Thanks - in the dark. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/253017443.
