Your generalizations are simply not true. If you have specific issues, please explain them in detail as we may help with your issues.
As to third party software, have you verified that those apps are compatible with not just your M1 Mac but with macOS Monterey as well. One big thing of note, 32 bit apps will not work and haven't since macOS Catalina. Vendors have been notified about the transition to full 64 bit OS for years. If the chose not to adapt, it is on them.

The statement in your question just isn't true. I have a new MacBook Air (M1) and am using it with an HP mouse and a 7-in-1 Anker USB hub, and I have printed wirelessly to a CanonPro-100 photo printer and a Brother laser printer
