I just purchased this adapter yesterday 1/1/2022 and straight out of the box it doesn’t work. Im using an iPhone 12 Pro Max IOS 15.2 and itll detect it for 3 seconds in the top left corner and then itll go away. I cant look at it in settings>general>about, ive done everything else that suggested. I tried it on my old 7 plus IOS 14 and that didnt detect it which leads me to say its faulty.

It was in fact the Adapter, i got it exchanged and all is well.
