Can't login to App Store - "review your account information" infinite login loop

Hello,

When I am trying to login on my MacBook's App Store, I am brought to an infinite login loop.

Here is what happens:

  1. I open the App Store on my MacBook
  2. I click on "Sign in"
  3. I enter my Apple ID and password:
  4. I am requested to review my account information: (this doesn't seem to mean my password is wrong, since I get another error in that case)
  5. A new Sign In pop-up opens (step 3). Then the "review account information" pop-up opens, and so on...

Any advices what could be done to login to the App Store? I am running out of options... Even the "Report a problem" button won't let me in:

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

This Apple ID has not yet been used with the App Store -

On a Mac;

Open the Music app

Choose the iTunes Store

Choose Account in the Music Quick Links on the right side of the store window

Sign in to your Apple ID

Add a payment method to your account details

On an iOS device;

Open the Settings app

Chose your Apple ID

Choose Payment & Shipping

Add a payment method to your account details

Same endless loop issue. I have an apple ID and PW setup, payment method can be viewed when accessing Apple via a PC browser and can see it on the phone and the payment method was verified yet wen attempting to open app store I am in thi endless loop

This apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes store, tap review to sign in, then review your account information loop

I select use existing Apple ID and PW and it circles back to needing to sign in with my apple ID! Apple needs to do a better job at synching their apps and making it more user freindly.

I have this problem too.

I only noticed it after upgrading to Monterey but since downgrading to Big Sur I've discovered the problem still exists.

The issue doesn't exist on iOS/iPadOS or signing in online so I can only assume this is macOS specific.

Edit: this also affects account and redeem links in the TV and Music (iTunes Store) apps.
