Recovery server could not be contacted

I was resetting my MacBook Air and everything was fine, cleared data and everything but now when I went to “reinstall Mac” it’s saying “recovery server could not be contacted.”

Hello Strawbunnie2003,

Thanks for reaching out to us in Apple Support Communities about receiving an error when contacting the recovery server. We're happy to help by looking into this more!

First, check for a known outage on Apple's System Status page, located at https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

If there are no issues reported there, try restoring while connected to another network. If you still have issues, reach out directly to Apple Support:

Hope this helps.

Best Regards.
