Deleting iMessage Attachments in Bulk

I noticed when I switched from Catalina to Big Sur that I could no longer go into a message thread on my Macbook and delete the attachments in bulk by clicking on one, and holding shift, and clicking on another. Then pressing delete. I hoped they'd fix it for Monterey, but no luck.

I've tried removing attachments through the storage cleanup (about this mac), but that doesn't get anywhere near as granular as I would love for it to.

Has anyone figured out a way to do so, without deleting the entire thread?
